I have often wondered about Loki Doberdog's ancestry. With ears as big as his, and body just as sleek, his half- wolf-half-pinscher muttitude makes for an interesting study. As many dog ppl know, you can recognize traits of your dog is so many different things, and oddly enough, not just in other four legged animals. He's a living mosaic (Losaic) of all these different things. In Norse mythology, Loki, the mischievious trouble-maker was known to be a shape shifter. Perhaps this is why I notice how many there are.
Thus, with the help of googlepedia I present my National Geographic dogumentary on the pretend or maybe not so pretend ancestral elements of the "Loki Doberdog',
Egyptian Jackal (Canis aureus lupaster)
"Historically, whether or not lupaster is a large jackal or a small wolf has been the subject of debate. Aristotle was the first European to write of wolves in Egypt, mentioning that they were smaller than the Greek kind. Georg Ebers wrote of the wolf being among the sacred animals of Egypt, describing it as a "smaller variety" of wolf to those of Europe

Or perhaps Loki derived from Deer, as he certainly curls up like one and has ears like one.......
And last but not least, he could have derived from Vampire Bats. Strictly because of the ears on this one.
Ok.....so....maybe that last one's a stretch.......
So.....What do you see in your doggers?????
