When out on the roof there arose such a clatter
There's something to be said about those wonderful people, who may not necessarily be dog folk but still welcome your enormous goofy doberdog to their home during the busiest time of year. We went to Doberdog's Doberdad's mums....dobergrandma's. He was a great house guest and was very interactive with everything and everyone. We arrived just in time for the turkey carving on Christmas eve. He couldn't have been happier to be in a two storey house with the liberty to run around and throw tennis balls at people who were settling down for their first course. He was incredibly spoiled, and even had two stockings. Three arm-length bones, a bunch of cookie treats, and a destroyed squeaky hot dog later, we headed home from our overnight holiday adventure. With five more family gatherings to go, Loki would spend the rest of Christmas day on his ownsome napping....and in no way exploring open gift bags we left under our tree.........Oooops
In his doberworld it was soo horribly terrible of us to leave him behind on such a joyous festive day, so he decided to keep his own party going. Merry Ransacking, how do you like them apples?
We came home later than aniticpated, to a stocking that had been pried from a gift bag and merrily pillaged, with an open lindor bag of tin foil chocolates and a marshmallow santa package strewn across the floor....the oddest thing about his holiday ransack party was that he didnt actually eat ANY of the chocolate (thank goodness) but instead he went for the apple. We came home to a guilty pupper cowering over an unharmed red delicious.

This is my apple. Be careful k?
Soon it was clear that the new found red delicious was his pride and joy. He carried it around the house like it was a fragile fruit baby. No chewing. Just gently carrying. I decided to allow the red delicious to accompany us on our late night walk. The only time he put down the apple was in the elevator, but picked it up as soon as we got to ground level.
The rest of the walk would look like this. Most dogs carry toys, he carries produce.
Yo! Don't forget about your Vitamin C this winter! It's man's bestfriend!
birthday card from the ever Hallmarkian, Loki
And lastly, as we don't know Loki's actual birth date, I had to guestimate based on his approx. age of 2.5yrs when we adopted him. The city recognizes his birthday as mine for simplicity sake. So happy possible third birthday Loki Doberdog. Welcome to the world of Boxing Day b-days :)
